Unlike other medical student publications, MS doesn't need a team of doctors to write about issues relevant to medical students - we have our very own team of dedicated students who write, edit, design and lay everything out! Meet our team...

Editor-in-chief: Joanne Ooi, GKT.

Say hello to Joanne, this year's MS Editor. In her fourth year at GKT, Joanne hails from the sunny climes of Malaysia , where you can find the most gorgeous food in the universe and the suffix 'lah' punctuating every second sentence. Like this- lah ! When she's not muttering inaudible prayers for her present and future patients directed to no religious entity in particular she dreams of long lazy summers in exotic locales, Googling things, food and fashion, shakes her fist angrily at rain, dysmenorrhoea, and limp handshakes and lives in eternal hope that nobody will ever find out that she set a world record for collecting in excess of 10,000 Kit Kat wrappers to win a trip to Tokyo to see the Backstreet Boys. Come on, she was 15!

Consultant Editors: Ferras Alwan, BL & Emma-Jane Smith, RUMS
Ferras and Emma-Jane used to run the show but now they don't. Nobody's quite sure why they're still around but they are, offering pearls of "wisdom" and muttering about how things weren't like that in their day. Both are final years, Ferras likes West Ham United, Back to the Future and pretending he's Heston Blumenthal, EJ's into space, dancing and juggling fire. All useful skills for running a newspaper, we're sure you'll agree.

Section editors:

Culture editor - Kate Stein, BL: In her fourth year at BL, Kate's originally from Oxford, a town she sees as full of contradictions: the town vs the gown, the real University vs Oxford Brookes, the town that gave us Radiohead but also the Rover! it's all pretty reflective of her personality which may explain why she's drawn towards psychiatry as a career! Kate's running the marathon this year for the Dyslexia Research Trust which is just as well because her likes include cooking, eating out, beef fillet and strong cheese… She also loves after dinner cigarettes and Leonard Cohen, dislikes Christmas cards and her biggest fear is having honey spread on her neck then made to wear a scarf….ewww!

International news editor - Suha Bachir, ICSM: Profile coming soon!

National news editor - Charlotte Roberts, RUMS: Profile coming soon!

Sub-editors:

Rajeev Advani, GKT: A fourth year, Rajeev lived in Trinidad for many years means that he's one of the few medics in London with a Caribbean accent! Studying medicine is just a small part of his plan for world domination which involves drinking lots of scotch and coconut water (a Trini concoction), Hoegaarden and kiwi and strawberry Snapple! He also likes dancehall and reggae, dislikes London weather, Nike Air Force Ones and people who can't understand his accent!
